  • Take Cleansing Breaths: Three sets of deep inhalations through the nose (belly rising)
    and exhaling through the nose, (abdomen deflating) can (temporarily) change
    your physiology.
  • Stretch: Practice Office Yoga and the Moving Meditation® Fitness Program 
    throughout the day to release/reduce tension and increase energy.
  • Walk: A five minute walk outside can change your mood and mindset.  Try adding  breathwork + affirmations: even better!
  • Listen to Music: A mood changer.
  • Eat Peacefully: This aids the digestion and gives you “time away”. Leave your office!
  • Allow Time: Give yourself extra time for the unexpected.
  • Smile and Laugh: Humor has been proven effective in reducing stress.

EFT is like yoga for the emotions and the spirit. This is a bit out of the ordinary- for me anyway:
Sitting comfortably on the floor at Borders-Time/Warner Building in between meetings/gigs and charging my cell in an outlet. (I had the charger with me since I was spending the night in the city with a friend). I wasnt the only one sitting on the floor reading, eating, or simply relaxing. No more comfy chairs anymore.  In front of me was a great meditation-chakra-yoga section of books on one side- so I happily reviewed chakra information- and on the other side in front of me was Paulo Coelho’s section- 11 books!! I’ve only read 3, and am a big fan, so I know what one of my winter projects will be…it all reminded me of hanging out in the warm library at SUNY Buffalo, many moons ago.

My cat, Suki has been an “indoor cat” since last Fall, when he was bitten by an animal and had a serious infection. He is a bit challenged (a rescue cat), so we decided to keep him in. Recently, it’s been easy, he seemed to run away whenever we opened the back door to the deck. So, thinking that this was his MO, after a lovely dinner of bbq scallops
( inspiration from Facebook or Twitter last night) and drinks, I was carrying dishes, opened the door, and Suki ran out. Instinctively, with all best interests in mind, I stomped my foot down on him, he ran inside causing me to fall and have a perfectly aligned “rolling like ball yoga-pitates move with plates on my abs, and thank G landed on my left buttock, not the one I had a cortisone shot in yesterday (triple ouch!). I scrambled up and asked where did he go??, was reassured inside, probably in his safe space under A’s bed..and then I assessed my physical damages- none! miracle. So I asked Steve, who witnessed all, what the message was- he said, if he really gets out, he’ll be back to eat; and if you see him at the door, pause and shoo him away before you proceed to enter. OK ! Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everyone~

Looking Forward

I love having something fun to look forward to. A vacation (optimal), a fun Zumba class (tomarrow AM), a definite full day media vacation and doing other stuff (all day tomarrow). After Zumba-yoga sequence, a visit to Mom in her nursing home. After regrouping at home, Steve and I will be going to the city and attend a dance performance at the Joyce Theatre. Before that, we’ll have an early dinner at a fav Spanish restaurant downtown. And, the weather will be NY Spring!
