Are you a frequent “second guesser?” There are many possibilities of why, which I’m not going to focus on here. The important thing now is to stop questioning practically every decision you make, do the best you can – believing that you are – to make confident choices.

Frequent words-phrases of second guessing are could have, should have, if only, why didn’t I, I would have. These are usually used as a way of expressing tension before or after having made a decision. Adding to the negative situation, you may feel angry with yourself and berate yourself for having created a stressful situation. Perhaps you do not do anything, being ambivalent about your choices, and feel stuck and powerless.

Here are some tips to help break a pattern of “second guessing” and making confident choices:

• Think about why you lack trust in your judgment.
• Ask yourself what is the worst thing that can happen if you say no to someone…
• Know that we aren’t perfect. Learn something from your mistakes and move on.
• Eliminate the phrases and words that indicate uncertainty and second guessing, (2nd paragraph).

Do you need help and encouragement taking “risks” and trusting yourself, in changing old patterns to make confident choices and take confident actions?

You may notice that once you have potentially understood the things that could hold you back, there is so much more to gain by moving forward. You could find yourself inspired by all you may be able to achieve~ all the possibilities!

Understanding all aspects of the possibilities that await us can be motivating, unless we consider every part of a project-the positive and negative-we will go into it blind, not really considering what might happen. Then, if things don’t go well, we are more likely to feel let down. Fully knowing the risks beforehand, however, will actually catapult you, giving you fuel for the challenge of today, knowing that once you overcome something, you will have achieved a new and exciting success.
