Do you know what your intuitive “cues” or “clues” from your power center – usually the gut – are?  A pang in your gut when you may be doing the wrong thing, or a vibrant zing when your body approves, can guide you reliably at times when logic fails. Sometimes, when logic prevails, we ignore our gut and live to regret it, understanding later that a rational approach is only one way of determining what is going on in a situation and how we can react.

Our gut resides in the neighborhood of our solar plexus just above your belly button. When it is functioning well, we can trust its guidance and adjust our actions accordingly. Many of us have a tendency to hold in this area of our bodies. We may take shallow breaths that never reach this vital center that is the source of our empowerment. It is in this place that we find the courage to act and be assertive. When our power center is out of balance, we are timid and out of sync, wishing we had said something we were only able to phrase later when we were alone; wishing we had acted on an opportunity we didn’t see until it was past.

In order to trust and utilize your power center more consistently, you may want to focus your attention on it regularly and make time to care for it. You can begin right now by taking a deep breath into your belly. On the exhale, pull your navel in toward your spine so as to empty out completely before taking another deep breath into your belly. When you empty completely, you release stagnant energy and create more space to be filled with fresh, nourishing breath. The more you practice this simple exercise, the more clear and communicative your feelings will be and the more comfortable you will feel acting on them.

Another way to nourish your power center is with EFT tapping.  When working with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) we close a round with three strong power breaths.   2. Trust your intuition We are all born with intuition so a challenge may be to learn to access that and trust yourself about it!
  3. Communicate assertively

Personal challenges may arise including negative thinking or simply not trusting “the answers” that come up for you. You may accelerate your learning curve by quieting your mind so that you “hear” or intuit right choices. Develop patience and be aware of not acting “on impulse”.
Practice “saying no” to create positive space for yourself and learn how to communicate assertively (not passively or aggressively). Hone your listening skills – to others as well as yourself! And finally, take action when you know the time is right (your intuition will tell you when:)), and without procrastinating- which is always fear based and ditch perfectionism to accomplish something meaningful and “on target.”

We can move  forward and outside of the box while risk taking some risk in our lives and careers when we  feel confident and can imagine a successful outcome – while listening to our intuition!  We must trust that – no matter what-  intuition helps us make good choices and avoid drastic mistakes with unnecessary risks that may be ego inspired.  Embrace opportunity with assurance – and -listen to that little voice in your head and/or physical feeling in your gut/heart to guide you on a successful path!

1.  Listen to and follow your intuition. 
During these trying and difficult times it’s been shown that it’s often necessary to reprioritize to get best outcomes.   Your intuition is most often correct when it comes to your life, work and relationships.  So even if it’s an inkling feeling – a tiny revelation- take a moment to recognize that and then move forward.
2.  Stay within your integrity- no matter what.
No reason or person is important enough to ever stray.  If you have  tried this over the years whether intentionally or not,  then you
know it always backfires.        
3.  Love and laugh!
Both are proven stress reducers.  Happiness is contagious – many need more of that now while surrounded by global negativity and immersed in “the new normal.”
4.  Forgive yourself  for mistakes, let go and move on. 
Self-forgiveness is essential in order to forgive anyone else.  Forgiveness is essential to let go of anger.  Letting go of anger is essential to be happier.  
5.  Take time each day  to relax, to dream.
We need our “down” time more than ever now, living in these difficult times.  Honor your method of relaxation and allow dreams to surface.  Be open to learning additional relaxation techniques and give them a try.. whatever works for you whenever you do it is OK as long as it has no negative effects on health or  overlap with personal or work responsibilities.  If things are unmanageable – get help.
6.  Be a great listener.
Listening is the most important part of communication.  If you do not understand what is being said, ask. Listen well and your response will  be more on target.
7.  Stay healthy by practicing extreme self-care. (diet, sleep, exercise, relaxation techniques).
Stress takes its toll on health and may exacerbate conditions already in existence.  8.  Stop procrastinating and take action- to move forward or to drop the project.
9. Begin each day with a short meditation positive visualizations of successful outcomes of your goals.
10.  Believe in yourself and your goals; create affirmations and post them onto mirrors, in an accessible notebook and in the car
