SOAR! with Resilience®: The Interactive Book for Overcoming Obstacles & Achieving Success”

A must read for anyone struggling to take their personal or professional life to a higher level of success and satisfaction.
A high level of energy may leave you feeling stimulated and not completely aware of the effects of the choices you make.  This may be a good time to work on balancing your spontaneity with intuition.Taking a moment or two to think about the effects of our choices, we are still acting on the spur-of-the-moment, but we also act using our intuition as a guide. This prevents us from making decisions we may later regret. We respect and pay attention to both our desire for the unstructured and our natural instincts.   Be attuned to your intuition! Creating a routine that encompasses everything that is important to you requires discipline and knowing yourself.  Sometimes we need to step back and contemplate – meditate on various aspects and possibilities.  Priorities are easier to manage  when you are flexible enough to accept uncertainties and have confidence that you will make good choices.  Devoting yourself to aspects of your life that are most important to you and taking responsibility for your actions are the keys to great prioritizing!

Are you a frequent “second guesser?” There are many possibilities of why, which I’m not going to focus on here. The important thing now is to stop questioning practically every decision you make, do the best you can – believing that you are – to make confident choices.

Frequent words-phrases of second guessing are could have, should have, if only, why didn’t I, I would have. These are usually used as a way of expressing tension before or after having made a decision. Adding to the negative situation, you may feel angry with yourself and berate yourself for having created a stressful situation. Perhaps you do not do anything, being ambivalent about your choices, and feel stuck and powerless.

Here are some tips to help break a pattern of “second guessing” and making confident choices:

• Think about why you lack trust in your judgment.
• Ask yourself what is the worst thing that can happen if you say no to someone…
• Know that we aren’t perfect. Learn something from your mistakes and move on.
• Eliminate the phrases and words that indicate uncertainty and second guessing, (2nd paragraph).

Do you need help and encouragement taking “risks” and trusting yourself, in changing old patterns to make confident choices and take confident actions?

I’m often asked how I manage to be so active and visible and still have a life. LOL. Yes, balance is important and a daily challenge. It’s been said that nothing in the universe is balanced anyway… it’s all organized chaos. If that’s the case (or not) what we need to do is design a lifestyle and career that best matches our intrinsic motivations.(ie: Be passionate about what you do. Yes, you have choices…) Well, I’m so passionate about coaching – speaking-and facilitating that it fits my preferences to a tee that I have an abundance of energy. Of course, self-care is vital too! I recently came across this wonderful Scottish Proverb: “It’s only work if you’d rather be doing something else.” Of course, there is a time-place-season for everything. Turn-turn-turn…
