Procrastination is driven by a series of negative beliefs and feelings

Procrastination is a behavioral tendency that results when beliefs and feelings such as the following take over:
1. The fear of failure.
2. The fear of success.
3. The fear of rejection.
4. The belief that one is inadequate.
5. The belief that one is not good enough.
6. The belief that one is unworthy or undeserving.
7. The belief that one’s success will be envied and/or taken away by others.
8. The fear of envy.
9. Feelings of low self confidence.
10. The fear of attracting negative attention.
11. The fear of taking responsibility for one’s self.
12. The need to be taken care of.
13. Feelings of anger and resentment towards others.
14. The need to get revenge in passive aggressive ways.

And so on.

When one is stuck in the inertia so commonly felt with procrastination there is a sense of powerlessness, immobility, confusion, vague feelings of depression, low self worth and self-esteem, a sense of purposelessness, self-doubt, agitation, boredom, and loss of passion or enthusiasm etc.

What is not seen however are the underlying drivers, the beliefs and feelings mentioned above lying below the conscious state in your subconcious mind, often causing free will to shut down.

The only way to release oneself from this state is to become conscious of those programs and erase/delete/release them from within once and for all.  I’ve successfully guided many groups and individuals to do this with EFT!

As a normal part of life, stress enables us to get things done. If left unmanaged, stress can lead to emotional, psychological, and even physical problems. Stress causes a disruption in the flow of vital energy through the body. These energetic imbalances can throw off the immune system or cause symptoms of pain, sleep disturbances, abnormal digestion, headaches, menstrual irregularities, aggravation of already troublesome health conditions and, over time, more serious illnesses can develop.

Stress is cumulative.  Stressful situations that last over a long period of time can create an ongoing low-level stress that puts continual pressure on the nervous system, increasing activity, and can cause the overproduction of hormones. The extra stress hormones over an extended period of time may wear out the body’s reserves, lead to fatigue, depression, a weakened immune system, and a host of serious physical and psychological ailments.

Some signs of stress overload include:

– anxiety or panic attacks
– feelings of constant pressure, hassled and hurried
– irritability and moodiness
– physical symptoms such as stomach problems, headaches, or even chest pain
– allergic reactions, such as eczema or asthma
– problems sleeping
– overindulgence in food, alcohol, smoking, or drugs
– sadness or depression

Stress is often the cause of illness and the deterioration of health. Finding a release valve for your stress can help you stay healthy. According to research, stress, frustration, and unresolved anger can play an important part in throwing the immune system off and allowing pathogens to affect the body.

While it isn’t always possible to remove the external forces causing stress, the ability to effectively deal with stress is a choice. Take time for yourself to cultivate the energy you need to handle your stress more skillfully and effectively.

EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, is often described as the tapping technique and is a powerful stress reduction tool that is proving to be extremely effective in a wide variety of conditions in which stress can be a causative or aggravating factor.

We all have a dark side – or the voice in your head  – or the egoic mind.   We tend to take this voice seriously–we believe it, agree with it, and don’t question it. We believe it because we are programmed to believe our own thoughts, regardless of whether they are true and helpful or not. We tend to take this voice seriously–we believe it, agree with it, and don’t question it.  This mental voice is often unkind, belittling, fearful, self-doubting, judgmental, complaining, confused, and unhelpful. It turns out that the voice in our head is not a very good guide to life, and yet we tend to accept what it says and do what it suggests

Much of the time, this voice seems like our own thoughts and voice and sometimes like a parent, other authority figure or friend. We identify with them–we feel they reflect who we are. We don’t tend to question our own thoughts, although we readily question other people’s thoughts, especially if those thoughts are different from ours. But when we stop and examine what this mental voice is saying, we discover a lot of contradictory advice, misinformation, prejudices, judgments, and other negativity. This mental voice is often unkind, belittling, fearful, self-doubting, judgmental, complaining, confused, and unhelpful.
Lifetime programming to pay attention to and believe this aspect of the mind is usually very strong, and it takes not only seeing the truth about it, but also a practice, as in meditation, of not giving our attention to this mental voice before we gain enough distance from it to experience freedom and the joy and peace of our true self and also of EFTtapping  to release negativity and stress and motivation to take positive action.

Most successful people are less likely to be perfectionists as perfectionism impedes performance.  Facebook’s headquarters had “Done is better than perfect” painted on the wall. Imagine if Facebook had waited until it was “perfect” to launch. It probably wouldn’t be around today.

Perfectionism is often born of extra demanding parents or former schoolteachers.  While perfectionism is a “learned habit” it can be an “unlearned habit”.   Perfectionists spend more time than necessary on tasks that don’t require the extra care. One issue that perfectionists often run into is not understanding that all tasks don’t require the same amount of effort and time.  Consequently, they feel overwhelmed from not having enough time in the day.  When you’re so overwhelmed by work and anxiety, you can’t get anything done, and you become trapped in a loop of unhealthy thoughts, impulses, and behaviors.

A combination of coaching and EFTtapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) can help you break the cycle and transform procrastination (often a product of perfectionism) too!!

Wheel of Life (2)Personal balance is different for everyone. It has to do with where you are starting and where you want to be…It depends on what your responsibilities (or perceived ones) are and the time and energy you need to allow for that and for simple and more complex pleasures.  It’s not about having equal pieces of the “wheel of life” in the chart above; it’s about giving each piece the time and energy it needs. Most of us have evaluated our success and not meeting goals for the past year and have goals and action plans in mind for this year.  It’s important to take action now.  Are you ready? Now is the time!

Did you know that
40% of worrying is about things that will never happen
30% of worrying is over things that can’t be changed
10% of worrying is over health (which only gets worse when you worry)
We spend 92% of our time an energy worrying about things that:
1. We have no control over
2. We can’t possibly change
3. Have misperceived

Make a list of things you worry about. Divide your list intocategories listed at the top of this outline. How do you want to redirect your focus?
What would happen if we channeled this energy and effort contructively rather than adding “fuel to the fire”? Worrying is like steeping on the gas pedal while the car is in neutral: we create a lot of noise, use op energy and don’t go anywhere!
