I was researching the fear of not knowing in relation to medical diagnosis, aging-death concerns for family members and current safety issues with terrorism.  Several clients are currently experiencing these challenges… I  learned that this is an actual “phobia”:  “Agnosiophobia” that is quite prevalent in these times, not only to the above-mentioned issues, also in applying for work, having an interview, presenting a proposal, online dating, meeting someone new and more.

For some, the “not knowing” is extremely anxiety producing, as is any phobia.  The good news is that a modality I am certified in, in the field of energy psychology is EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as tapping, researched backed to reverse and transform fear!  I have successfully worked with client’s transforming fear of flying, heights, water and more! View testimonials and find out more here  My book and ebook provide these examples.  I’m excited to share this transformation more actively, now that folks are being more open about the fear of not knowing.  I find life and executive coaching, mindfulness strategies, creative positive visualizations and affirmations when combined with EFT is the formula for successful outcomes.

Always acknowledge your emotions- even if they’re not positive so that they’re not suppressed-repressed leading to negativity.  When they are acknowledged, only then , can you transform anxiety and stress to well being and success, being resilient!!!

Here are three strategies for being happy in today’s crazy world:

  • Connect With People: Just being around others isn’t enough. Join groups that you share something with. You need to be “in it together” to tackle challenges better than when loneliness is a true emotion.
  • Connect With Your Intrinsic Values: More doing what you love because you love it. Chasing status (including on social media – counting “likes” often) –  places happiness outside your control.  Feeling “out of control” is a true definition of stress.
  • Connect with Nature: Go outside for a reason other than to pick up that box from Amazon.  *Research shows people who exercise in nature are even happier than people who exercise indoors.*  Perhaps you’ll have a personal “reframe” while doing this – without even thinking about the situation!

Please comment below to let me know how this goes.  I’m always available for a free consult via phone.  Sessions in Skype and Uniondale, NY ; also on your site.

How do you feel when an understanding friend quietly listens to you with love and sincere interest? This may be the polarity of how it felt when you were really upset about something, began to share, and the “listener” shut you off or interrupted to give you suggestions.  A person who listens with loving interest and respect helps us process our emotions.  When another accepts our emotions (without judgment) it has the effect of giving us permission to accept our own emotions and feeling empowered to process and resolve the issue.

Active listening is a gift of time and love.  Active listening is actually reflecting back the content or emotions of what is being said., and truly listening with interested silence when not doing that.  This applies to children and teens too!  Read more here   https://wordpress.com/post/balanceandpowerblog.com/3541

Yes, when you feel bullied or “unfairly” attacked emotionally – verbally it is usually difficult to respond without anger or to walk away and release. Reacting with anger adds fuel to the fire and it’s best to leave and release – even if it’s temporary it interrupts the stress-adrenaline -cortisol cycle and hopefully can allow you to act responsibly and let go instead of actions that you may very well regret.  It can be helpful to realize the other’s thoughts-words-actions may have nothing to do with you! even though it seems that way.

When you leave the scent taking a few deep breaths, doing tapping EFT, taking a walk are all activities that help to feel better and regain personal energy balance.

I’ve helped many clients with this challenge in my Westbury, NY office and Skype as well as larger groups onsite and webinars.
