Do you believe you are loveable? If you believe you are not loveable, I’m asking you to challenge that belief. Take a moment to identify at least three (or more) lovable traits that you possess, such as being generous, compassionate, friendly, kind, considerate, thoughtful, interesting, funny, etc. Write these down on post-its and place in conspicuous-to-you places.  You may also want to keep a  notepad with them handy.
Many attractive, successful single people have some very negative, limiting beliefs that sabotage finding a soul mate or being in a healthy relationship. The list usually goes something like this:

-I’m too old.
-I’m too fat.
-I’m too damaged.
-I have too much baggage.
-I am too successful.
-I am not successful enough.
-All the good ones are taken.
-Nobody I want, wants me.

There is plenty of evidence that love is available to everyone regardless of age, weight or income or any other feeble excuse.
No matter what mistakes you have made in the past, you are still able to wake up every day and be able to start again.

Perhaps you need some help with this as well as being “accountable” to someone other than yourself.  Perhaps you want to add EFTtapping to your self-help “toolkit.

Empowerment Guide
Keep in mind the following strategies to help you stay well and happy:

• Do things to bring you a sense of fulfillment, joy and purpose, that validate your
worth. See your life as your own creation and strive to make it a positive one.
• Pay close and loving attention to yourself, tuning in to your needs on all levels.
Take care of yourself: nourish, support and encourage yourself.
• Release all negative emotions–resentment, envy, fear, sadness, anger. Express
your feelings appropriately; don’t hold onto them.
• Hold positive images and goals in your mind, pictures of what you really want in
your life. When fearful images arise, re-focus on images that evoke feelings of
peace and joy.
• Love yourself and make loving the purpose and primary expression of your life.
• Create fun, loving, honest relationships that allow for the expression and
fulfillment of needs for intimacy and security. Try to heal any wounds in past
relationships and with parents.
• Make a positive contribution to your community, through some form of work or
service that you value and enjoy.
• Make a commitment to health and well being, and develop a belief in the
possibility of total health – physically and emotionally.
• Accept yourself and everything in your life as an opportunity for growth and
learning. Be open to possibilities. Be grateful.
• When you make mistakes, even “bad” ones, forgive yourself, learn what you can
from the experience and move on.
• Keep a sense of humor.

At your core is a reservoir of very positive energy, a world of quiet and stillness, and innate qualities of goodness, peace and love. This is your true inner self.  Through this time of global turmoil, it is helpful to retreat into your inner sanctuary several times a day when possible or at least once daily.   We can’t always go to the ocean or a forest, but can always go to the oasis of peace inside of ourselves. This creates well being, and lets go of a sense of overwhelm and helplessness that many are feeling.  Instead, you can feel calm, focused and empowered.  When any situations come, just go deep into your inner sanctuary, your reservoir of quiet and stillness  – an oasis of peace.  No matter how you feel, you can change simply by shifting into inner focus.

Notice that thoughts are slowing down as you move deeper into quietness and stillness in the guided meditation below.  Nothing to fear.  No worries.  Let thoughts just dissolve into space, as you move deeper and deeper into your inner being of quietness, stillness, peace.  This is your inner sanctuary.

So…now get comfortable in your chair or lying down. Relax your body while staying alert.  Take a deep breath in through nose, belly expanding before chest. Exhale nose or mouth, belly deflating last.  Take another long slow deep breath,  paying attention to this feeling for a few moments.  When thoughts pop up, just gently bring the mind back to the breath, letting the thoughts go. Picture them just floating away on a cloud or down a stream.  If it is an important thought, just gently tell yourself to put it aside for now and that you’ll give it full attention after meditation.

Release any tension in your body,  envisioning each part of your body, one at a time, starting with toes, and first tighten and tense, and then relax and let go of each muscle, all the up to your jaw and eyes. Take a deep breath and let out a loud sigh.

And now relax your mind and let go of tense feelings and worry, beginning to feel light and calm. Envision a beautiful healing white light of positive energy entering your whole body as you breathe in, and the darkness of any tension, irritation, disappointment, or any negativity, being blown out and disappearing as you exhale.  Let everything of the day, the past, the future, just go.  When thoughts come, acknowledge them, and then watch them float by, and come back to your breath and to relaxing your body.  Breathe in relaxation – breathe out tension…letting all stress just slip away.

Now, very slowly, prepare to return back to the awareness of your body, the chair you’re sitting on, the room. You feel very calm – relaxed and filled with peace.  Cherish and hold on to this feeling throughout the day.

What are the warning signs, what characteristics of a child can we look for to be “at risk” of becoming a bully?  Sadly to observe, many adults exhibit these traits too.  The children can most likely be redirected and provided with effective coping mechanism and tools and take positive routes in the world of socialization.  Many adults are capable of learning new approaches as well; research has shown new neurological paths may be created and that it’s almost always “never too late”.  It’s been my experience that when I work with adults, that to change ingrained patterns of bullying or almost any behaviors, they must have a strong intention to change.  I’ve seen amazing positive results working with children, youth and adults as a certified  anger management specialist and empowerment-success expert when there is this intention.  Here are clues to watch out for, the warning signs of becoming a “bully”:

  • Appears to enjoy  being powerful and respected with fear
  • Equates being powerful and respected with fear
  • Is skilled at being sneaky
  • Blames others often
  • Shows little compassion
  • Defensive often
  • Defiant and oppositional
  • Huge attention seeking with negative behavior
  • Impulsivity
  • Lack of coping skills

Learn how to manage anger and stress and help the “bullies” you know cope:
