Making A Decision

Hunter Mountain 2The hardest thing about making a decision is that it means examining everything life puts in front of us, making a choice and following through with action.  It is only through acknowledging the existence of what’s not working for us by turning inward, that we can begin the process of making a decision and following through with action. So saying yes doesn’t mean indiscriminately accepting things that don’t work for us. It means conversing with ourselves, accessing our inner power and then starting the conversation with a very powerful word — yes.

When we say yes to a choice, we enter into a state of trust that whatever our situation is, that we can work with it. We express confidence in ourselves and a willingness to learn from whatever comes our way.   The question we might ask ourselves is what it will take for us to get to the point of saying yes. For some of us, it takes coming up against something we can’t ignore, escape, deny or feel uncomfortable with.  For others, it just seems a natural progression of events that leads us to making a decision. It’s important to examine the moments when we resist what is happening. It might be scary at first, and even painful at times, but if we persevere and continue the process  we will discover the joy of being in a positive conversation with a force much bigger than ourselves. Reframing, meditation, EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique, meridian tapping) and working with an expert coach in these modalities can be very helpful and help you become unstuck and unblocked in decision making.  The coach also becomes someone to be accountable to with decisions you have made and goals that you have created.
