The front row of upper level of double decker bus is the best seating . Any seat at The Royal Albert Hall is fantastic- and the sound for Mark Knopfler & his band was super..great to hear the old faves “Sultan of Swing”, etc. and new music too. Pub lunch-supper (lupper?) by the Thames was lovely and the gardens! And many meals of ethnic food throughout the week that flew by. Every street holds history, fashion and interesting people. The Arsenal Stadium stands proud across the road from our flat
that we’ll be bidding goodby to tomarrow, ready to fly home to summer in Long Island. Cheers!

Great to be back, and whew! re JFK drama intrigue last night when we landed…Home now- some drama-intrigue at JFK last night:
they said that they were switching gates and immigration had to be set up. we were not allowed to get out of our seats while we sat for 45 minutes and the pilots said soon, soon and soon.
then the 10 federal marshalls came on the plane in formation and went right to the back part of the plane. we were in the front. they proceeded to take out two guys, one big and mean looking that I had noticed in Heathrow, and all their stuff. they may have taken another man also or he might have been involved in the raid. they came back in five minutes and took another guy off with all his stuff. then the pilot told us we could all leave. we flew through customs and immigration.

This is one that probably wont make the news..and happens more often than any of us wants to consider..
If the flight attendants-crew knew this all along they sure put on a good show- something seemed fishy when we landed really quickly at K (with bad weather) and no time for clean up- they said to store our food trays under seats.

Steve and I were a bit “wound up” and easily made it up to midnight (5AM London time) so no jet lag this AM- that’s the small upside of this story. I was amazed at how I didnt have a panic response as many of the passengers did..not even a delayed one. Only “wound up”. I’ll take that .

Allowing the ash to settle..

I’m referring to the ash of recent volcanic eruption that has caused disruption in international travel. My recent blog, “Strategies for Emotional Flexibility” and all the Stress Management tips I know & teach havent yet settled my unease re the flights around this trip. We are planning to leave in 2 days: Thursday afternoon, Kennedy-Madrid, with a flight Malaga-London 5/26 and then back to NY June 1. Thanks in advance for the power of collective positive energy. I know that stress is about feeling out of control and that 92% of worry is about circumstances we cannot change. With that said, I could be packing instead of writing this blog now (even tho it’s a great release to blog abt something like this..) and I continue to tap throughout the day with ash settled being my newest tapping phrase! I’ve always had some issues with packing- and am so much better at it now and am evidently procrastinating- another fear issue..am I afraid I wont “have enough” or “just in case” if we’re stranded in Europe- and that scenario can be terrific actually- so I must focus on taking the most important items and nothing else. We still need to deal with the luggage-weight issues and are bringing our daughter a new computer among other things! The Euro is so low now we can buy anything needed for bargain prices~

Traveling can be chaotic- and I have coached many people to successfully overcome fear of flying and packing anxiety. The “ash fear” and related issues can be conquered too. Onward!

it’s gorgeous with all the blooms
the weather is perfect in New York
almost everyone is in a good mood in NY because of the above 2 points and allergies have to be better than April!!
I’m leaving mid-May to travel – visit with daughters in Spain & London

SYNCHRONICITY-SERENDIPITY-SYNERGY are wonderfully timed scenarios-circumstances; it’s fabulous that the English language provides us with these feel-good words…
Lately, my career/collaborations as well as family events and relationships are feeling that way/all good! My current involvement with The R.E.D. Team: Recharge-Empower-Develop You and Your Family (for additional insight view http://www.balanceandpower.com/events.php) is a perfect example: as I placed myself in different Long Island networking events, my intention being to meet powerful people to collaborate with , I newly connected with my three wonderful R.E.D. Team colleagues..and subsequently learned that we are of the four Eastern/astrological signs: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water. In case you’re wondering, I’m the bull-Taurus-Earth gal.

As for family, we had a wonderful celebration of our daughter Jessica’s marriage to Mark Peachy of England in a wonderful Long Island venue. They’re living in London, near the soccer stadium where Arsenal team plays, in a recently restored area in Islington. There were lots of friend/family history at our celebration, including Mom’s Brooklyn friends whom she hasn’t been able to see in many years- and lived in our neighborhood when I was growing up..and my friend from public school -present at the party- who knows them as well..and my brother who “played over” at their homes.. Of course my daughter Ariel and her boyfriend Xabi residing in Madrid are highlights of this time as well! London Fun with Daughters Catch-up

My trip last month was fantastic- quality-fun time with Jess who lives in London and Ariel, who flew in from Madrid to be with us (they took a few vacation days.) And Mark sometimes- Jess’s British husband. My first time flying alone to Europe since college- a landmark! and all girl talk/shopping/eating/fun Brit TV/ pubs and no schedule! And pajama parties and a show!
Highly recommended!
