This is especially true for &#8220;caregivers&#8221; and those in the &#8220;sandwich&#8221; generation- Here are my  EFT tapping scripts for 1)Holiday Stress Relief  and  added one 2) for Caregivers.  You may find the tapping points and my intro to EFT (short) video here:  <a href="http://www.balanceandpower.com/eft.php" target="_blank"><strong>balanceandpower.com/eft.php </strong></a></p>

<p><strong>1)  EFT for </strong><strong>Holiday</strong><strong> Stress Relief:</strong></p>

<p>Before you get started, choose a number 1-10 (10 the highest) your perceived rate of stress on this topic</p>
<p>Here is my simple tapping script for this:<br />

<p>Set up phrase (karate chop or massage on upper chest).</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>-Even tho I am feeling soo stressed about going to __ for the holidays, I fully and deeply love &amp; respect myself</p>

<p>-Even tho I know this happens to me every year and it&#8217;s ridiculous to become so stressed, I fully and deeply love and respect myself.</p>

<p>-Even tho I know the holidays are about gratefulness &amp; peace (inner and outer!)) and I feel full of dread, I know I can get thru this.</p>

<p>- Even though I really want to spend TG with__ and I&#8217;m having dinner for (or going to)____, I fully and deeply love and respect myself.</p>

<p><strong>Yom Kippur</strong> (<a title="Hebrew language" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language">Hebrew</a>: יוֹם כִּפּוּר or יום הכיפורים‎, <small>IPA: </small><a title="Wikipedia:IPA for Hebrew" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_Hebrew">[ˈjom kiˈpur]</a>), Also known as <strong>Day of Atonement</strong>, is the holiest and most solemn day of the year for the <a title="Jews" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jews">Jews</a>. Its central themes are <a title="Atonement in Judaism" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atonement_in_Judaism">atonement</a> and <a title="Repentance in Judaism" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repentance_in_Judaism">repentance</a>. Jews traditionally observe this holy day with a 25-hour period of<a title="Ta'anit" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ta%27anit">fasting</a> and intensive <a title="Jewish services" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_services">prayer</a>, often spending most of the day in <a title="Synagogue" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synagogue">synagogue</a> services. Yom Kippur completes the annual period known in<a title="Judaism" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism">Judaism</a> as the <a title="High Holy Days" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Holy_Days">High Holy Days</a> or Yamim Nora&#8217;im (&#8220;Days of Awe&#8221;).</p>
<p>Yom Kippur is the tenth day of the month of <a title="Tishrei" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tishrei">Tishrei</a>. According to Jewish tradition, <a title="Names of God in Judaism" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_God_in_Judaism">God</a> inscribes each person&#8217;s fate for the coming year into a book, the <a title="Book of Life" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Life">Book of Life</a>, on <a title="Rosh Hashanah" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosh_Hashanah">Rosh Hashanah</a>, and waits until Yom Kippur to &#8220;seal&#8221; the verdict. During the Days of Awe, a Jew tries to amend his or her behavior and seek forgiveness for wrongs done against God (<em>bein adam leMakom</em>) and against other human beings (<em>bein adam lechavero</em>). The evening and day of Yom Kippur are set aside for public and private petitions and confessions of guilt (<em><a title="Vidui" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vidui">Vidui</a></em>). At the end of Yom Kippur, one considers oneself absolved by God.</p>
<p>The Yom Kippur prayer service includes several unique aspects. One is the actual number of prayer services. Unlike a regular day, which has three prayer services (<em>Ma&#8217;ariv</em>, the evening prayer; <em>Shacharit</em>, the morning prayer; and <em>Mincha</em>, the afternoon prayer), or a <a title="Shabbat" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabbat">Shabbat</a> or<a title="Yom Tov" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Tov">Yom Tov</a>, which have four prayer services (<em>Ma&#8217;ariv</em>; <em>Shacharit</em>; <em>Mussaf</em>, the additional prayer; and <em>Mincha</em>), Yom Kippur has five prayer services (<em>Ma&#8217;ariv</em>; <em>Shacharit</em>; <em>Musaf</em>; <em>Mincha</em>; and <em><a title="Ne'ilah" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ne%27ilah">Ne&#8217;ilah</a></em>, the closing prayer). The prayer services also include a public confession of sins (<em><a title="Vidui" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vidui">Vidui</a></em>) and a unique prayer dedicated to the special Yom Kippur <em>avodah</em> (service) of the <a title="Kohen Gadol" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohen_Gadol">Kohen Gadol</a> in the <a title="Temple in Jerusalem" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_in_Jerusalem">Holy Temple in Jerusalem</a>.</p>
<p>As one of the most culturally significant Jewish holidays, Yom Kippur is observed by many <a title="Secular Jewish culture" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_Jewish_culture">secular Jews</a> who may not observe other holidays. Many secular Jews attend synagogue on Yom Kippur—for many secular Jews the High HolyDays are the only recurring times of the year in which they attend synagogue,<sup><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Kippur#cite_note-0">[1]</a></sup>—causing synagogue attendance to soar.</p>
<p><strong><em>I find this week of tradition, feast and fasting, introspection and renewal totally congruent to my personal belief system and with prayers for world peace and resolution of the economic, political and environmental global crisis we find ourselves in.</em></strong></p>

<p>Let it free flow and then write them down in columns.  Review this whenever you are feeling down, first thing in the morning and before bed.</p>
<p><strong>Forgiveness</strong> of one&#8217;s self for wrong doings and poor attitudes is necessary before you can forgive others, as loving oneself must happen before you are able to love others.    Forgiveness of heinous crimes is not possible for most people and not necessary. You do not need to let go of 100% anger/guilt to let go and move on.  Try forgiving a percentage, and &#8220;work on it&#8221; through EFT, guided imagry and de-sensitization techniques, hypnosis, coaching, therapy to get the percentage higher.  It can be helpful in acknowledging that those in question may have been doing the best they knew how or were capable of (due to personal history, mental capacity, mental illness).</p>
<p><strong>Depression is</strong> almost always  supressed, repressed, not communicated (or communicated partially) anger, with or without genetic tendencies.</p>
<p><strong> Anger</strong> expressed at over-the-top levels results in socially unacceptable aggressive behavior that steps over physical and/or emotional  boundaries (hitting-pushing-punching-pulling, property damage including throwing things, slamming doors and name calling, cursing-yelling. Health related symptoms of high anger and stress levels include high blood pressure, headaches, racing pulse, difficulty breathing, tight muscles.</p>
<p><strong>Stress</strong> levels elevate when feeling out of control or &#8220;overwhelmed&#8221; and may cause someone to exhibit angrily acting out or be irritable.  The flip side is a depressive episode.</p>
<p><strong>It is important</strong> to remember that human beings are not perfect and we all &#8220;mess-up&#8221; at times.  If you or someone you are close to  experience any of the above on an ongoing basis or regularly, it is time to get help!  Often learning simple coping strategies and techniques as well as how to  communicate effectively is all you need to do- in conjunction with a practitioner you feel comfortable with and can create a trusting relationship with.</p>

<p>Miraculously, I&#8217;m really OK. No broken bones- much deja vu re a serious (right) foot pedestrian accident 25 years ago-</p>
<p>I will advocate a stop sign-crosswalk for pedestrian safety in front of Kohl&#8217;s in  Oceanside, NY where I was leaving and proceeded to cross into the parking lot seeing a car having stopped before turning left onto my foot.</p>
<p>The elderly driver said she didn&#8217;t see me and was driving very fast.</p>
<p>I will &#8220;lie low&#8221; this week  and continue to be especially grateful for being only &#8220;uncomfortable&#8221; at times.  Thanks for listening..</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3>The dictionary does not tell us how to accelerate the resilience process, it only defines it:</h3>
<p>1.  “springing back into shape, position, etc. after being   stretched, bent or compressed.”</p>
<p>2.  “recovering strength, spirits, etc. quickly.”</p>
<p>Being resilient in body, mind and spirit is key  to   being happy and successful in all areas of life.    Emotionally, it’s the opposite of being “stuck in a rut” and it’s   about being positive.  Physically, it can translate to   strength and flexibility. Spiritually it can indicate faith with   the ability to maintain hope in tumultuous times.  It’s   about staying centered and grounded and making “right” choices.</p>
<p>So, you may be asking yourself, how does one maintain   emotional-spiritual equilibrium and resiliency when things can be   unpredictable and often in crisis mode? How can we accelerate the resilience process?  It’s not easy, and takes   some work. It’s easy to create positive patterns and habits when   life is going smoothly.  It can be quite challenging while   being swept away by negative forces.  A good mentor/coach   and practice is important, and the practice will create a   “spill-over” effect into life situations.</p>
<p>Many people, including myself, have learned how to be more   resilient.  There are skill sets of meditation, relaxation   breathing, visualization and “tapping” (EFT- Emotional Freedom   Techniques) that all add into helping an individual maintain   focus and be positive. Exercising, eating healthfully and being   in healthy relationships are naturally fortifying. Most people   are not born resilient, but do have the capacity to learn how to   be this way.  Here are a few tips to accelerate the process:<br />
• Think of possibilities from   different perspectives.<br />
• Stop talking in absolutes.   Eliminate the words nothing and never from self   talk.<br />
• Set specific goals that are   attainable.<br />
• When you are feeling down due to   personal circumstances, take stock of your   strengths.<br />
• Lower the stakes, not the   standards: Don’t have your whole life riding on the outcome of   one event<br />
• Savor small triumphs, steps   leading to the bigger picture.<br />
• Set aside self blame and learn   from your mistakes.<br />
• Surround yourself with positive   people<br />
• Do not read, watch or listen to   the news if you become “too upset”.<br />
• Take a few minutes each day to   reflect on your feelings.<br />
• Cultivate generosity and   gratitude.<br />
You are the only one who can   control your attitude. By focusing on what is strong and enduring   and seeing your potential, you can take calculated risks and   overcome challenges. It takes an open, creative mind free from   anxiety to pick up on opportunities. They are out there ready to   be accessed by your positive and resilient radar!</p>

<li>it&#8217;s gorgeous with all the blooms</li>
<li>the weather is perfect in New York</li>
<li>almost everyone is in a good mood in NY because of the above 2 points and allergies have to be better than April!!</li>
<li>I&#8217;m leaving mid-May to travel &#8211; visit with daughters in Spain &amp; London        </li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recently, as a guest on <a href="http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ComedianStevieMack" target="_blank">Stevie Mack&#8217;s radio show</a> I  briefly spoke about being grateful &amp; &#8220;the kindness of strangers.&#8221; I started to reminisce  re a number of years ago when I was experiencing extreme emotional and physical challenges. ( read more about that <a href="http://www.balanceandpower.com/meeteileen.php" target="_blank">http://www.balanceandpower.com/meeteileen.php</a>).  I didn&#8217;t know about EFT then- I surely would&#8217;ve helped myself more and faster.  I recall what amazed me was that when I was doing  simple errands people often &#8220;bent over backwards&#8221; &#8211; a gas station attendant, for instance, and did extra little things to help. And there were a few instances when much bigger kindnesses were turned in my direction.  I would journal about them, and express gratitude.  In hindsight, I&#8217;m also grateful that I was &#8220;open&#8221; to receive what was being given- and realize that perhaps  I was given what I asking for- even if I had not verbalized it.  We all need to reach out more and to be open, receptive and grateful.  On a scale of 1-10( 10 being highest), how do you rate :</p>
